make projects
MAKE Projects is an employment social enterprise. Our mission is to provide job readiness skills to low-income refugee and immigrant women and youth to help them achieve their dreams. We operate a working farm, restaurant and catering/events company as a hands-on job training platform for our trainees to gain a paid work experience and critical life and employment skills.
Our employment team supports participants in getting permanent jobs after they graduate from our program. MAKE Projects is a rare workforce development program tailored to the unique language and cultural barriers faced by women and youth. We measure success by job placement outcomes, as well as the confident smiles that quickly replace the fear on all our new trainees’ faces when they start with us. In 2020, our adult training program achieved an 86% job placement success rate.
